Philippi was a church planted by the Apostle Paul in first century Macedonia (Acts 16). This church was a byproduct of the Gospel transformation of some of the most unlikely individuals: a business woman from Asia Minor named Lydia; a young slave girl freed from her oppression; and a Roman jailer who was shown profound mercy by Paul and Silas. God saved this eclectic group of men and women from within every layer of the socio-economic strata, in order to form the underpinnings of a generous, healthy and missionally-minded church that would fund and further the movement of the Gospel.

Like this First Century church of Philippi, we desire to see lives transformed by the Gospel in Grants Pass. We believe that we possess such good news that it can -and will- transform the most unlikely of people. Just like in Acts 16, we believe God has Roman jailers, business women, and people under bondage who are ready and willing to hear the transformative power of the Gospel. Our mission field is those among us. Those whom God has planted us amidst in our daily lives. The name “Philippi” serves as a reminder for us of the power of the Gospel to transform any life, and the power and influence that the local church can have when they become a generous and missional family, centered on the person and work of Jesus.
